AirPods Sound Better than Expected, Services Interesting

I bought the AirPods 2*. These are my first — really — wireless headphones. Short review: Sound is better than expected, convenience factor very close to 100 percent. I will share my thoughts on the new Apple Services down below too.

Review: Pairing is incredible fast. They’re loading in the box which is perfectly fine. Playing time is close to five hours (which could be true, never tested it to the limits). And the „Hey Siri“ works actually pretty good. Seems like it works even better than on the iPhone especially in the car when the phone is like two foots away. Talking is very nice, it works even with just one AirPod as a headset.

Sound quality is not the best but ok

From everything I’ve heard I expected the sound quality to be worse. I was surprised by the deep bass. I can live with that very well. I have to say I’m not listening too much music, so my expectations on headphones are not that high. I’m more into spoken content like audio books or podcasts. For that, again, it’s totally fine.

What makes the AirPods so cool is the pairing which is really easy as fuck. You simply open them — and they’re connected. And they’re very fast in the ear. It takes no time compared with in ear earphones.

One downside: After a few hours at least I can feel the phones in my ear. Sometimes it hurts a little bit. It’s not quite a smooth feeling as you would have with lets say the Bose SoundSports. Anyway like I’ve said the convenience is really good. Wearing them is flexing. Like really hard. These are definitely headphones I will carry all day in my pockets without noticing because they’re so small — maybe I am able to listen to more stuff on the run.

New Services

Few words on the new launched Services from Apple. I’ve watched most of the event via the live stream.

News Plus

Very shortly: The news App is nice. We get 300+ Magazines for 10 Bucks in a sleek Apple design which is not only beautiful to read but also wonderful to look at. And you can share it with your family. So: that works. Should be easy cash for Apple. As a shareholder: Yep, cool one!

Cards

This maybe was the coolest thing on the event — because it is within reach, when keep in mind, most of services starts fall this year. This thing should come in the summer. The Apple Card basically is the most beautiful card I’ve ever seen. It soo sleek, so simple, so easy to use. It is what apple always does. Get something and make it better than anything existed before. I really like to use this card. The question is, when it’ll come to Germany… We waited four years for Apple Pay.

Arcarde

I’m not very into gaming. But maybe I will test this service. Open questions: Price and Games coming next.

TV Plus

This definitley was the part were things got a little bit strange. For a short moment the Keynote remembered me more on an Oscar. There were some really big names — Steven Spielberg, J. J. Abrams, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah and so much more — and the content they’ve showed looked stunning. Apple Originals I believe could get really big when it comes to high quality content. If it really is able to beat Netflix? Hard to say. Apple TV Plus starts Fall this year. We’ll see.

Conclusion: After the event Twitter was a little bit on fire with users not happy with the new services. Apple could have launched AirPods2, new iPads and new iMacs and people are still likely to complain either.

And please, please, please: clap, share or comment. What do you say? Are you enjoing to see Apple pushing more in the service business? I would love to hear your thoughts on this very exciting topic.
